| Schools outreach Program If you think education is expensive, try ignorance. ~Attributed to both Andy McIntyre and Derek Bok That quote says it all. We aim to provide conservation education to primary schools. Our primary aim is to visit rural schools to bring the message of the need to conserve wildlife and moreover our environment. Sadly this message can sometimes take a back seat when academic achievements are seen as being more important and we need to fill that gap. We believe that local teachers provide the best method to carry our message to schools, in a fun and exciting way then engages youngsters in a variety of projects. Project needs We wish to employ a school teacher who can visit rural schools throughout Mpumalnga on a regular basis to encourage both pupils and resident teachers to understand the need to conserve our environment. The focus of this program is the leopard, which as the top of the food chain can be used as a key indicator for the health of an eco system. All the elements of a healthy eco system can then be explored in a fun and exciting way. This method has been shown to encourage involvement and appreciation of the need to conserve and protect the environment. Finances |
